Dell's Profit Slides 47%

Comuter World has a piece about Dell’s finanical reporting.  Its revenue is done 11% year over year, and short of what analysts had expected.  Its net income dropped to $.27 per share compared to $.49 compared to a year ago.  Dell gets about half of its revenue from PCs, so the overall decline of the PC market has hurt its bottom line.

iPad Shipments to China Nearly Double After Trademark Settlement

iPad shipments to China rose from 1.15 million unites in the second quarter to 2.07 million shipments in the third quarter.  Globally, iPad shipments were 14 million in the third quarter.

NYT: Facebook Cancels Shortcut Over Concern for Security

The New York Times is reporting that Facebook has discontinued its auto login feature after finding it could expose a user’s email address or even allow access to their account.  The website Hacker News reports that 1 million Facebook accounts had been affected by this. TrendMicro says that the address shortcuts were “inherently dangerous.”
