GoPro Recalls Its Karma Drone

GoPro announced yesterday it was recalling its Karma Drone.  This is their announcement on how to return the drone:

GoPro is committed to providing our customers with great product experiences. To honor this commitment, we have recalled Karma until we resolve a performance issue related to a loss of power during operation. We plan to resume shipment of Karma once the issue is addressed.

The return site has information on return to GoPro and Best Buy, as well as a number of frequently asked questions.

Casey Neistat compares his GoPro Karma to his DJI Phantom 4.  He like the GoPro 5 camera better than the onboard camera on the DJI Phantom 4, but he finds the Phantom 4 to be a much better drone.

iPhonedo: GoPro Karma vs DJI Mavic & Osmo Mobile – In Depth Review and Complete Comparison

iPhonedo  reviews the new GoPro Karma and the DJI Mavic as well as the Osmo Mobile.  His evaluation of the Karma is thus “the Karma is unquestionably, inarguably, unarguably, without a doubt, the worst drone I have ever flown.”  He goes on to say “it performs as a circus act.”  With regard to its weight he says it is “the Jaba the Hutt” of the bunch.

iJustine fails miserably on her first attempt to fly the new GoPro Karma drone.  After the unboxing and size comparison to DJI’s Mavic, she take the Karma outside and proceeds to crash it several times, resulting in breaking numerous props.
