This is a great site for checking to see if a specific website is currently down, of if it has been down recently.

All you have to do is enter the URL and click the “Check” button.  After the check has been run, the results page comes up and shows the status of the site and its response time.  For tops sites that are often check it will also provide a chart showing the site’s status during random checks over the previous 10 days.
